The Mystery Series (What Is This?)

When you hear the word “mystery” what do you think about? Solving a crime? The Da Vinci Code? The Mystery of the Rosary? Maybe, one of the many mysteries mentioned in the Bible?

“The” Mystery has no secret code and it is not a secret anymore. What is this Mystery?

I did a word study on the word “mystery” in the Bible and what I found is very eye opening. In the New Testament the word “mystery” is used in context of various mysteries, mysteries in general (for example; Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of Heaven in parables. These parables required an interpretation or understanding to be given to an individual in order for them to understand it. Matt. 13:10-23), and… The Mystery.

The fact that there is one mystery which sticks out like this, being called “the Mystery”, caught my attention. So, I dug a little deeper. I did what any good Bible study guy would do, I read the context. As I was reading the context of several uses of this word “mystery” it began to pop. The context kept giving me more information about this.

Certain trademarks of this particular mystery; that it was hidden but now it has been revealed, that it is for the Gentiles now, too, as well as the Jews, and (spoiler alert!) that it is Christ in you, helped make it very clear for me.

It blew my mind to see how this was a textbook Bible study. Everything was fitting together and as I would pray, for understanding, before thinking about, meditating on, or pondering what is written in the contexts of the uses of this word “mystery” (which I found in a concordance) BAM! The Holy Spirit would then begin to open the eyes of my heart.

This is what the Mystery Series Trading Cards capture and display. The Mystery which is Christ in you.

I recommend, to anyone, to take the time to venture boldly into the Scripture expecting the Holy Spirit to teach you. You will get your eyes opened to the reality of the Kingdom of Heaven. You may also discover that spiritual things are not allegories and metaphors, but that allegories and metaphors are used to usher you into an understanding of supernatural realities when you humble your intellectual prowess to the Spirit of the living God.
